Bornholm is the easternmost outpost of Denmark; as the sun rises over this small kingdom, its rays first light upon the 45.000 island-dwellers out here in the middle of the Baltic. This rocky island, sheltered by southern Sweden, has more hours of sunshine than the rest of Denmark, and such a mild climate that in many gardens you will see figs, apricots, mulberries and walnuts growing, along with a variety of wild plants and flowers that can only be found here.
The main towns on Bornholm are Gudhjem, Hasle, Nexø, Rønne, Svaneke, Aakirkeby and Allinge.
