In the south and south-east of the peninsula you’ll find marshes, canals and locks on one side, and hill country full of forests and fjords on the other. The Marsh and coastal mudflats (Vadehavet) are a fascinating and scenic area. To see this region at its best, visit Flensburg, Aabenraa, Haderslev, Kolding, Esbjerg, Sønderborg, Als, Fanø or Rømø.
